SCX 6 SCADA Software attains OPC Certification

Serck Controls, a leading SCADA and Telemetry Systems company has recently completed full OPC certification of its SCX 6 SCADA software. This includes four OPC Servers which are included in the product namely:
OPC DA 2.0, 2.05a
OPC AE 1.00, 1.02 and 1.10
OPC HDA 1.00, 1.10 and 1.20 and
OPC XML DA 1.00
Serck recognizes the importance of standards to provide customers secure, reliable interoperability in a highly plug-and-play environment, and when you consider the growth of OPC as the industry standard for PLC to HMI/SCADA connectivity you soon realize the importance that this certification provides.
ARC Advisory Group studies show an expectation of upwards of 60% of HMI/SCADA systems utilizing OPC within the next two to three years. “Actual forecasted shipments of OPC clients and servers indicate a 50% compounded annual growth rate from 1998 to 2005” (ARC Insight 2003-42M).
OPC technology is based on publisher-subscriber data model which provides efficient communications between the Client and Server application. Recent in-house tests have found that systems in excess of 10,000 tags and when tag value is changing every second is well within the capabilities of SCX 6 SCADA Server.
